Misema falls

Misema

The Misema facility began operation in the spring of 2003, and is located on the Misema River, north of New Liskeard, Ontario, near the Ragged Chute hydro facility.

Misema generates about 14,000 megawatt hours per year of electricity. A 280-metre long tunnel carries the water to the turbine, which works at high efficiency regardless of flow.

TransAlta owns and operates the Misema facility through its wholly owned subsidiary, the Canadian Renewable Energy Corporation.
